GEMA provides alumni with a number of opportunities to participate including events with high-profile speakers:
Alumni Events: designed to be both a learning and a networking opportunity for GEMA members. A diversity of events is offered including individual speaker nights, breakfast series, cross-industry panel sessions and interactive workshops. Each event features noteworthy executives and/or accomplished creative personalities in the industry, most of whom are Georgetown alumni.
Philanthropic Events: the founding principles that Georgetown University continues to uphold is a clear commitment to justice and the common good. GEMA continues that Georgetown tradition in its own way by offering events in which GEMA members can gather, network and socialize while honoring a philanthropic cause. The event may be organized to support a particular need of the university or a worthy cause to which a GEMA member is dedicated. GEMA is currently working on a number of events to support philanthropic initiatives.
Alumn Career Panel on Campus: Georgetown Entertainment & Media Alliance’s Annual Career Panels are a tremendous opportunity to hear insider perspectives on the entertainment and media industries from Georgetown alumni.
GEMA also connects alumni with students as part of the GEMA Externship Program. The Georgetown Entertainment & Media Alliance (GEMA) and the Career Education Center offer the GEMA Externship Program, a unique opportunity for undergraduate seniors, MBA, Law and all other students enrolled in a graduate program at Georgetown. The externship provides students the unique opportunity to spend time with experienced professionals in entertainment and media, and get a firsthand look at day-to-day operations in the industry.
