While GEMA would like to help support all members’ activities, we cannot produce email blasts for all. It would simply cause email glut for our members.

On occasion, GEMA will distribute an email notice on behalf of a member if a member is premiering a creative work at a special event and members are offered significant discounts or little cost or free tickets to attend.  GEMA does not promote ongoing business endeavors of members through email blasts.

If you have such a creative event coming up and you would like to ask GEMA to consider announcing it in an email blast to members, please remember:

Requests must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the event during regular time, and
3 weeks prior if any of that time includes a work holiday.   GEMA is a staffed entirely by
volunteers.  Your request must be reviewed, approved, prepared and mailed by different individuals.

Provided your request meets the above requirements, GEMA volunteers will do their best to make it happen, but we cannot guarantee that all requests will be fulfilled.  GEMA reserves the right to manage its volunteer staffing resources and the content and frequency of email messages to members as it deems best for the GEMA organization as a whole.

In the future, we hope to build an area of the GEMA site where members can post notices about ongoing work they are involved in but we are short of the technical staffing resources currently to build that.

Another way for you to reach GEMA members to promote your business or ongoing project would be for you to consider having your company sponsor a GEMA event. In that case we can include information to be distributed at the event itself and the name and logo to be included in the invitations and program. Or perhaps your company would be interested in sponsoring an area of the web site?
