How to Use GEMALINKS:

GEMALINKS is a collection of websites related to the media and entertainment industries, designed to help you investigate the industry, untangle the network of companies, and to set you on a path to find what you're looking for.

Explore the General Reference General Reference list to get to get a broad overview of how things work and to find general job sites.

If you want to search a specific field, visit one of the Industry Areas. Industry Areas You'll find links to sites that offer useful background information about an industry area and links to specific job sites for this industry area.

Keep in mind that there are many media conglomerates that own sub-companies or have divisions dedicated to a specific industry area. You may want to visit sites for both the division you are interested in and the parent company to do the most thorough research.

You might need to do some investigation through multiple sites, or multiple areas, before you find exactly what you're looking for.

Example:

If you visit Time Warner's job site, you can search careers at any of TW's divisions, from television at Turner Broadcasting, to publishing at Time, Inc., to even comic books at DC Comics. However, if you are interested only in film careers, you might want to go directly to the specific site for the film studio, at Warner Brothers Studios.

This list is a good start, but is by no means exhaustive. If you know of an important site that GEMA has missed, please send a note to GEMALINKS@gema-hoyas.org.
