Molly Solomon (SFS '90), NBC Olympics Coordinating Producer, was annouced as a winner of a Women in Sports & Events (WISE) award.

Joe Piscatella (CAS '95) and his writing partner, Craig Williams, wrote the upcoming Disney movie, UNDERDOG, based on the 1960s cartoon. The movie is live-action and will be released Aug. 3rd.

David Appelbaum (C’03) was recently hired as the writers' assistant on the CBS show, SHARK, and his short film, ADIOS PAPIITAS FRITAS, has been accepted into 25 film festivals, and recently won the UMEC Film Festival.

Malcolm Lee (C ’92), will direct the upcoming Universal Pictures’ comedy release, The Better Man, starring Martin Lawrence as a single father who has made it big as a shock jock. When he returns home with his famous fiancée to attend his parents’ 50th anniversary, he begins to question his path in life.

Amy Baer (C ’88), Executive Vice President of Production at Columbia Pictures, was named to the Women in Entertainment Power 100, The Hollywood Reporter’s annual survey of the industry’s top female executives. Amy also serves on the GEMA LA Advisory Board.

Actor Bradley Cooper (C ’97), (Wedding Crashers, Kitchen Confidential) will star in Midnight Train, based on Clive Barker's tale about murderous mayhem on the New York subway. Lakeshore and Lionsgate are producing the movie with shooting set to begin this winter.

Actor/Comedian Jim Gaffigan (C ’88) is one of the lead actors on the new hit TBS Network comedy series, My Boys.  In addition, he is currently on a nationwide tour with his stand-up comedy act – click here for more information on Jim’s tour:  http://www.jimgaffigan.com/appearances.shtml

Ann Sarnoff (B ’83), was recently appointed President of Dow Jones Ventures. She is responsible for leveraging Dow Jones’s strong brands and assets into new businesses with a focus on consumer-targeted digital media. Ann also serves on the GEMA NY Advisory Board.

Colleen Aylward (G ’97) was named Category Development Officer, Entertainment at Yahoo!, where she works on defining sales strategy and identifying new products and solutions for movies, TV, home entertainment and games. She was previously at Variety. Colleen also serves as Co-Director of GEMA LA.

Longtime Hollywood agent Steve Glick (B ’80) recently established The Glick Agency, which represents actors, writers and directors for film and television. Steve most recently worked at ICM and prior to that, William Morris. Steve also serves on the GEMA LA Advisory Board.

Jim Deutch (C ’92), was named Executive Vice President of Business Development at Nederlander, one of the largest operators of live theatre in the world. In this role, Jim will look to find film, TV and other branded properties that can be turned into Broadway musicals and then supervise the development and production of the projects. Jim also serves on the GEMA LA Advisory Board.

Chris Curtin (L ’00) was named to the position of Vice President, Global New Media for the Parks & Resorts division of the Walt Disney Company. In this role, he is responsible for directing Disney’s theme parks marketing initiatives through new media and digital distribution channels.

Colette Shelton (L ’95) has joined Fox Broadcasting Co. as Vice President, Brand Integration.  Prior, she was Vice President of Reality Programming at Lifetime Television.  Colette also serves on the GEMA LA Advisory Board.

Adam Countee (C ’03) was appointed as a writer’s assistant on the Fox Network series, House. Previously he was assistant to TV director/producer David Semel.

Yvonne Bennett (L ’89), was appointed Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs at Gemstar-TV Guide. Most recently, she was Vice President, Business Affairs
Disney/ABC Cable Networks Group.

Laura Hockridge (C ’91), was promoted to the position of Executive Producer, Series and Specials at The Tennis Channel. Previously she was Senior Producer at the network.
