As part of its ongoing philanthropic mission, GEMA proudly committed to raise $250,000 for the construction of a 67-seat screening room on GU's main campus. In recognition of our commitment, which supplements an anonymous donor's substantial gift, the facility is named *The GEMA Screening Room*.

Completed since the Fall '05 term, The GEMA Screening Room features theater seating with fold-out desktops, digital and 16 mm projection equipment (with possible later addition of 35 mm), sound, lighting and soundproofing.

The GEMA Screening Room is currently hosting classes in film studies (e.g., film criticism, sociological perspectives in documentaries, etc.) taught by Professor Bernie Cook and other faculty. It also is available for use by other GU faculty from across the university and by student organizations.
